As part of their growing China & East Asia Business Desk, they are seeking a **Japanese‑speaking Audit Assistant Manager** with solid UK audit experience. ### The Role You will: - Lead and manage audit engagements for a portfolio of Japan and wider East Asia–linked clients (including UK subsidiaries of international groups and fast‑growing businesses). - Plan and deliver audits under UK auditing standards, overseeing on‑site/remote fieldwork and reviewing work prepared by Seniors and juniors. - Review financial statements under UK GAAP (and IFRS where applicable) and address complex areas such as revenue, group reporting, going concern and estimates. - Act as day‑to‑day contact for Japanese and UK stakeholders, using your Japanese language skills to liaise with overseas parent companies and finance teams. - Work closely with tax and advisory teams and contribute to refining audit processes within the international/East Asia desk. ### Candidate Profile - Strong **external audit background** in an accountancy practice or professional services firm. - Experience with **SMEs, owner‑managed businesses and/or international groups**. - Solid knowledge of **UK GAAP** and UK auditing standards (IFRS exposure beneficial). - **Fluent or highly proficient in Japanese** (spoken and written); able to explain complex issues clearly to non‑UK stakeholders. - ACA / ACCA **qualified** (or equivalent). - Organised, detail‑focused and comfortable managing multiple engagements in a fast‑paced, international environment. ### What’s on Offer - **Competitive salary** plus **study support** where relevant and a comprehensive benefits package. - Hybrid and flexible working within a modern framework designed to balance client needs with work–life integration. - A genuinely **nurturing, collaborative culture** with clear career pathways and strong partner/manager support. - Inclusive, people‑focused environment with extensive learning & development, coaching and regular social and networking opportunities.
