Job Description

We are searching for a driven Cross Border Tax Manager to join our partner’s tax practice, with a preferred location in Vancouver or Toronto. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional dedicated to career progression in public practice, eager to lead cross border tax engagements, and make a significant impact on both the firm and its diverse client base.

You will:

  • Collaborate with Tax Partners and senior colleagues on business tax compliance, tax provision, and advisory projects
  • Manage tax planning and compliance engagements for clients with US and Canadian income or estate tax obligations
  • Oversee engagement risk, financial performance, billing, and project budgets
  • Liaise with IRS, CRA, and provincial authorities on complex tax matters
  • Build and nourish senior client relationships by providing high-value advice
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting technical development and client service excellence
  • Identify new client service opportunities to support practice growth

Key requirements

  • CPA designation (US or Canadian)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cross border tax within a public practice environment
  • Completion of, or progress toward, an In-Depth Tax Program or Masters of Tax
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canada-US Tax Treaty
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multitasking abilities and experience managing multiple deadlines
  • Proven leadership and staff development skills
  • - Proficiency in tax and accounting software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, TaxFind, CCH IntelliConnect, and Microsoft Office
