Our client is a prestigious accountancy and tax advisory firm with more than 90 years of legacy in London. Respected for its detailed industry knowledge and unwavering commitment to client service, the firm advises a highly selective roster of high-net-worth individuals across sectors including technology, luxury retail, motorsport and performance engineering, as well as arts and antiquities. Director Opportunity – US/UK Private Client Tax

We are seeking an accomplished, dual-qualified US/UK tax professional to join the firm at Director level within the private client tax leadership team. This is a pivotal appointment for a senior leader ready to take ownership of a complex international client portfolio and drive the continued growth of the private client offering. Based in Central London and operating a collaborative, predominantly office-based hybrid model, this role provides both the strategic latitude and the technical exposure senior professionals expect at Director level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team delivering sophisticated tax advisory and compliance services to an exclusive UK/US high-net-worth client base
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for the management and strategic direction of complex personal tax affairs, including cross-border compliance, estate planning, inheritance tax, and wealth structuring
  • Oversee the technical accuracy and timely delivery of UK and US tax returns, including specialist calculations for offshore trusts and advanced structuring solutions
  • Serve as a senior advisor to clients, providing proactive, commercially aware guidance on intricate tax planning matters and regulatory changes
  • Act as a primary point of liaison with HMRC and the IRS, ensuring smooth resolution of technical queries and protecting clients’ interests
  • Play a leading role in business development: identifying opportunities within the firm’s client network, deepening relationships, and contributing to thought leadership
  • Mentor, coach and inspire team members—ensuring knowledge transfer, technical development, and a consistently high standard of client service

Candidate Profile

Required:

  • UK Chartered status and ideally dual UK/US tax credentials (CTA, CPA, ACCA, ATT, EA, ACA, CA, or equivalent) - desirable
  • Demonstrable career at senior manager/director level within a leading accountancy, advisory, or CPA firm
  • Comprehensive experience advising UK/US high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, including cross-border families and multi-jurisdictional structures
  • Authority in UK and US personal tax regulations, compliance, wealth strategy and estate planning
  • Outstanding communication skills, with an ability to distil technical concepts for a sophisticated audience
  • Proven record of leading teams and delivering results within time-critical, high-stakes environments
  • Advanced technology acumen, with a track record of driving process improvements through digital tools

Desirable:

Experience developing new business and cultivating client networks in a top-tier environment

Significant exposure to trust, estate and wealth planning in both UK and US contexts

Why Join?

  • Director-level influence and visibility within an established, highly regarded practice
  • Direct stewardship of a premier private client portfolio with exposure to dynamic industry sectors
  • Opportunity to shape strategy, operations, and client engagement at the highest level
  • Ongoing professional enrichment through complex advisory mandates and participation in firm-wide leadership
  • Central London location, with an office-centric culture supporting collaboration and senior peer engagement
  • Remuneration package and benefits commensurate with Director responsibility and above market benchmark
